Expanded Learning Opportunities Program

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) is fully funded by the California Department of Education.  Its goal is to provide before school, after school and summer/intersession school enrichment programs for transitional kindergarten through sixth grade.

ELO-P focuses on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of students through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. ELO-P is student centered, results driven, and complement, but do not replicate, learning activities in the regular school day and school year.

With the help of the ELO-P funds, Camp Fire is able to provide structured enrichment activities such as baile folklorico, pep squad, Lego robotics, drones as well as create partnerships with programs such as “AYA: Action Youth America”.  AYA provides a unique program that involves sports, STEM activities and homework support. ELO-P also provides assistance through teachers by providing tutoring to students in need of extra support in their academic courses.  In addition to adademics, it provides leadership skills through student council.

Camp Fire Inland Southern California is currently offering before school programs at Cambridge, Handy, Taft, Sycamore, and Yorba schools.  After school programs and summer/intersession are offered at Cambridge, Handy and Yorba schools.  All programs are provided in the City of Orange in conjunction with the Orange Unified School District.
